Science Camps combine LEGO Education, CSI Science, Circuits and Fun Experiments to fill the students days.
LEGO Mindstorms & LEGO WeDo
With LEGO© MINDSTORMS© Education students can build robots and use software to plan, test and modify sequences of instructions from a variety of real life robotic behaviours. LEGO© WeDo© for 7-10 year olds. Students will build and program a mechanical alligator that makes sounds and is motorized to open and close its jaw. We will also use lots of gears, simple mechanics.
CSI Science
The CSI element of the camp will vary with the age profile of the students.
- Fingerprinting: Understand the different types of fingerprints.
- Use Metallic Shavings to Extract Fingerprints from a glass surface.
- Make a mould of a suspects footprint.
- Older kids will go into more detail of solving crimes and even some DNA.
Circuits
Science Camps will use Snap Circuits to create a range of fun experiments. Parts just snap into place to build over 300 projects including:
- AM Radio
- Lie Detector
- Burglar Alarm
- Doorbell
Fun Experiments
We will try to finish off each day with a fun experiment. These experiments will investigate Magnets, Forces and some very basic chemistry. All chemistry experiments will use household items.
